Micro-Landscapes
Micro-Landscapes is an attempt at rethinking the tradition of the Landscape through the application of scientific and technological processes, as an overarching exploration of the Contemporary Sublime and interdisciplinary collaboration.
These images are an attempt at engaging with the Landscapes found in and around Gqeberha through a lens we seldom consider to be a valid mode of artistic representation. By collecting samples from familiar areas in the city, culturing the bacteria and documenting the emerging colonies, we gain a profound perspective that allows us to revisit our landscapes in a unique way, immersing ourselves in the world of the Sublime.
